For this year’s event, the Snapping Tortuga committee has graciously adopted the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) – one of our charity partners that centers their attention in kids that need financial assistance with their procedures. If you are planning to participate in this event, there are three ways you can help:

1. Register using one of the charity spots offered in the Active.com – a portion of the proceeds will be go directly to COTA;

2. Spread the word! Let the world know that your Swimming for A Cause. Your choice – Facebook, Twitter, snail mail, the works!

A few ideas:

– You can ask donors to give based on the amount of meters you’re planning to swim. For example, you can request X dollars for every 500m you swim; or

– You can request a flat dollar amount for the entire event.

3. To pledge/donate, go to the COTA Swimathon Page, and click on the yellow “Donate/Register” box on the right, and enter the total donation amount. In the comment box please enter the name of the swimmer you’re sponsoring – this will ensure that your swimmer will get the proper credit. Follow additional steps on page 2 and 3 with credit card information and confirmation.

Will you join us? We hope you do. See you at the start buoys!
